French Skis
and French Cheese
This year, I took two of my girls to go skiing in France! They’ve never skied there and I have not skied the Alps in 20 years. We usually go to Copper Mountain…. but we wanted to get a real French Experience!
After a short stay in Lyon, my hometown, we took a train to Les Arcs in the Alps to meet my sister’s family at the ski resort where we hit the slopes! It’s too soon to give you a proper French-American comparison yet.
As you can see, après ski led us to their favorite Cheese and Charcuterie shop La Grange Berger. We got everything we needed from cheese to charcuterie to herbal tea, and dined on a Raclette, a typical dish you have when you’re in the mountains of France. Man, I miss cheese!
We also got wild blueberry tarts that were divine. This is a typical treat from this region and probably the best one I have ever had!
I really want to share this delicious tart with you in Colorado Springs… I think we may try it in Sweet Tarts 2 first with our new Pastry Chef Instructor Nate!
Should we add it to our Bakery menu?
If you followed my trip to France in September, you’ll see I have already enjoyed my favorite cheese again, Reblochon… just had to!
That’s it for now!
Definitely want to learn to make blueberry tarts! Looks like a fabulous time!
